1 Samuel 14-Victory Through Faith
Read 1 Samuel 14:6
Today’s Truth
In 1 Samuel 14, we see an incredible act of faith by Jonathan, Saul’s son. While the Israelite army was paralyzed with fear, Jonathan and his armor-bearer stepped out in bold trust in God. Jonathan declared that God is not limited by human strength—He can bring victory whether the army is large or small. With this faith, Jonathan launched a surprise attack against the Philistines, and God caused confusion among their enemies, leading to a great victory.
This story reminds us that our battles are not won by our strength but by our trust in God. Sometimes, we hesitate because we think we don’t have enough resources, strength, or support. But God is not limited by numbers or circumstances—when we step out in faith, He moves on our behalf.
Discussion Questions
- What situation in your life requires bold faith right now?
- How can you trust God to fight your battles, rather than relying on your own strength?
- Are you waiting for ideal circumstances instead of stepping out in faith?
