Faith and Redemption-Joshua 2

Read Joshua 2:11
Today’s Truth

Joshua 2 tells the story of Rahab, a woman whose faith and courage stand out against the backdrop of her city’s impending destruction. When two Israelite spies enter Jericho, Rahab, a Canaanite and a prostitute, chooses to protect them, acknowledging the power and sovereignty of Israel’s God.

Rahab’s declaration in verse 11 is a profound testimony of faith: she recognizes that the Lord is the true God, despite being surrounded by a culture of idolatry. Her faith leads her to act, risking her life to align herself with God’s people.

This chapter demonstrates God’s redemptive power. Rahab’s faith not only saves her and her family from destruction but also places her in the lineage of Jesus (Matthew 1:5). Her story is a powerful reminder that no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace and that faith can transform even the most unlikely lives.
