Filled with the Spirit
Read Micah 3:8
Today’s Truth
What a beautiful verse in the middle of this chapter. Micah at this point has been talking about false prophets as he’s addressed in many different points already in this short book in the Old Testament. But here in Micah 3:8 he says, “But as for me.” He begins talking about his role as a true prophet. He said, “I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord.” Not with the spirit of this world, with an adversary who wants to deceive, with false prophecy, false teaching, that which is not from God. “I’m filled with power with the Spirit of the Lord and with justice and might.”
Discussion Question
- What does it mean to be filled by the Spirit?
- Jesus’ disciples were told that when the Spirit came to them, they would receive power. How does the Spirit empower you?
- Why do we have the power of God’s Spirit living in us?
Life Application
You will witness to who I am and what I’ve come to do to save people from their sin. You will testify, declare to others their transgression, their sin, and my salvation”. Like Micah 3:8, this is you and me as followers of Jesus in so many ways.
