God Keeps His Promises-Deuteronomy 1 and 2

Read Deuteronomy 2:36
Today’s Truth

The book of Deuteronomy is Moses’s words to the Lord’s people before they enter the Promised Land. The speech reminds them of the Lord’s faithfulness, promises, and laws.

Moses begins by reminding them of their first attempt to enter the land God promised them, and how they were too afraid because of the enemies there. The Lord kept Israel in the wilderness for 40 years, until the former generation passed away.

Discussion Questions
  • Think about a time that God blessed you even after you had been disobedient. Take some time today to thank God for his faithfulness.
  • What does it mean to have childlike faith?
  • How can we believe God, despite our disbelief?
Application

Giving direction as they went, God helped the Israelites navigate the land and the different peoples they passed on their journey. The people of Israel obeyed God’s directions on which areas to pass through, and which to conquer. God came through for them in every instance of strife.
