God Will Defend and Restore His People

Read Nahum 2:2
Today’s Truth

The context of this verse, Nahum 2:2, is when we are reading about the destruction of Nineveh, the capital of Assyria. The Assyrians who had attacked and plundered God’s people in verse two. So now, with that context in mind, listen to this language. “For the Lord is restoring the majesty of Jacob as the majesty of Israel for plunderers have plundered them and ruined their branches.”

Discussion Question
  1. What has God restored in in your life?
  2. God defend and restores those who trust in Him. How does knowing that God is your defender give you confidence when things are hard?
  3. God is the ultimate bringer of justice. What does it mean to you when God says he will make all things right, including dealing with the hurts you have experienced?
Life Application

As we look to God in prayer, we can trust that He is our ultimate defender. He will restore. He will fully redeem all those who trust in Him. So we pray, Oh God, we look to you today as our defender when we are slandered, spoken against, mistreated, hurt in different ways.
