God’s Grace in Our Weakness-1 Samuel 21
1 Samuel 21:9
Today’s Truth
David is on the run from King Saul. Hungry, desperate, and afraid, he goes to the priest Ahimelek at Nob, where he eats the consecrated bread (normally reserved for priests) and receives Goliath’s sword. Later, David flees to Gath, pretending to be insane to save his life.
It’s not David’s brightest moment.
He lies.
He scrambles.
He acts out of fear.
And yet God still protects him.
Discussion Questions
- Where in your life are you tempted to act out of fear rather than trust right now?
- Can you recall a time when God provided exactly what you needed, even when you didn’t deserve it?
- What “Goliath’s sword” reminders (past victories) can you hold onto when you feel scared today?
Application
Take 5 minutes to write down one time in your life when God provided for you in an unexpected way. Thank Him for it — and carry that memory into whatever you’re facing today.
