I Will Never Give You Up!

Read John 10:28

Today’s Truth

If we achieve our salvation by good works, then we must sustain our salvation by our efforts. We become like employees who receive their deserved wages. And when we can no longer produce, we live in fear that we will be fired.

Our salvation is made of stronger stuff. The focus of Jesus’ promise is this: “I give.” God gives us salvation, not as a wage for good works, but by grace through faith. We are saved, not because of what we have done, but based on the efforts of Jesus Christ, the founder and finisher of our faith.

Discussion Questions

Do you have doubts about whether you are saved? What are they? Where do they come from?
How does someone know they are truly saved?
What would living in full assurance of your position as a Christian look like today?

Application

From our new position as sons and daughters, we are free to follow and obey, assured, confident, and free of doubt.
