Joshua 20 – A Refuge for the Guilty
Read Joshua 20:2-3
Today’s Truth
Joshua 20 outlines the establishment of cities of refuge, places where those who accidentally caused someone’s death could flee for protection. These cities were sanctuaries where justice could be fairly administered, and the accused could avoid being wrongfully punished.
The cities of refuge point us to the ultimate refuge we have in Jesus Christ. Just as these cities provided safety and hope for the guilty, Christ offers forgiveness, grace, and peace to all who seek Him. No matter what burdens we carry or mistakes we’ve made, we can run to Him and find rest.
