Remember God’s Faithfulness-Joshua 4
Read Joshua 4:6-7
Today’s Truth
Joshua 4 is a beautiful chapter about remembering God’s faithfulness. After the Israelites crossed the Jordan River on dry ground, God instructed Joshua to have twelve men, one from each tribe, take stones from the riverbed and set them up as a memorial. These stones served as a physical reminder of God’s miraculous power and provision, not only for the current generation but for future ones as well.
In our lives, it’s easy to forget the ways God has provided, guided, and delivered us, especially when we face new challenges. Memorials—whether physical, written, or spoken—help us remember His faithfulness and share His works with others.
Just as the stones reminded Israel of God’s power, they also proclaimed His faithfulness to the world. In verse 24, Joshua says, “He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God.”
