Ruth 3- Stepping Out in Faith

Read Ruth 3:9
Today’s Truth

In Ruth 3, we see a bold act of faith and obedience. Naomi, recognizing Boaz as a potential kinsman-redeemer, instructs Ruth to go to him at night and lay at his feet—an ancient cultural practice symbolizing a request for protection and redemption

This was a risky move for Ruth. She had no idea how Boaz would respond, but she trusted Naomi’s guidance and, more importantly, trusted God’s plan. Boaz, recognizing Ruth’s virtue, commits to doing things the right way and seeking her redemption.

Ruth’s actions remind us that faith often requires bold steps, even when the outcome is uncertain. When we surrender to God’s plan and walk in obedience, He honors our faithfulness and directs our path.

Discussion Questions
  • Have you ever had to step out in faith without knowing the outcome? What happened?
  • What does Ruth’s obedience teach you about trusting God’s plan?
  • How can you actively wait on God’s timing without rushing ahead?
Application

Faith requires action. Ruth trusted God’s provision but also stepped out in obedience.

God honors integrity and purity. Boaz’s response shows the importance of doing things God’s way.

Waiting on God’s timing is part of the process. Ruth made her request, but she still had to wait for Boaz to act.
