Ruth 4- Stepping Out in Faith

Read Ruth 4:16
Today’s Truth

Ruth’s story reaches its beautiful conclusion in Ruth 4. Boaz, acting as the kinsman-redeemer, legally redeems Ruth by purchasing the land of Naomi’s family and taking Ruth as his wife. Through this act of faithfulness and love, Ruth moves from being a foreign widow to part of the lineage of King David—and ultimately, Jesus Christ.

This chapter is a powerful reminder of how God redeems broken stories. Ruth and Naomi had lost everything, yet God restored their lives beyond what they could have imagined. In the same way, Jesus is our ultimate Redeemer. He takes what is lost, broken, and hopeless and restores it with His grace.

No matter what your past holds, God’s redemption is greater. He is always working for your good, turning ashes into beauty and sorrow into joy.

Discussion Questions
  • How have you experienced God’s redemption in your own life?
  • Boaz willingly paid the price to redeem Ruth. How does this reflect what Jesus did for us?
  • How can you share the hope of redemption with someone today?

God’s redemption is greater than our brokenness. Ruth’s story reminds us that God restores what seems lost.
