Want to Make God Laugh?

Read Psalm 2:4

Today’s Truth

There's a saying that if you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans. The same way parents giggle at their toddler's plans, our heavenly Father laughs when He hears our plans (Psalm 2:4). God, who is all-knowing and all-powerful, does not need our suggestions.

God made us, He knows what will be best for us, and He loves us too much to let us settle for anything else. Our good and generous God wants more for us more than we think He does.

Discussion Questions

Are you relying on God's plans or yours? Explain.
Is there any area of your life where you are fighting God's authority? What is one step you can take today to submit that area to Him?

Application

We destroy our own plans when we neglect to trust God's promises or seek His will. So let's not fight God. Instead, find refuge in Him and trust that His plans are always better than the ones we make for ourselves.
