Passage: Isaiah 40:25-31
Summary
Life has a way of shrinking our view of God. Bills stack up, bodies break down, relationships fray—and before long, the God who hung Orion looks small enough to fit inside our fears.
Isaiah’s words brush the dust off our souls and say, “Look again. You’re not alone in this. You’re not carrying this by yourself. Your Father is bigger than your burden.”
Sermon Questions
- Share a time when you felt physically, emotionally, or spiritually exhausted. What did that season reveal about your limits?
- Why do you think God asks the question, “To whom will you compare me?” What false comparisons do we tend to make today?
- How does Isaiah 40 reshape or deepen your understanding of God as Father, not just as powerful but as caring? How does believing God is almighty challenge the idea that God is distant, absent, or overwhelmed by our circumstances?
- What does it look like practically to wait on the Lord (v. 31) rather than just waiting for things to change?
- How should belief in God the Father Almighty shape the way we care for the weary, the broken, and the overlooked in our community?
