Summary

Spiritual highs do not exempt you from emotional lows. Great faith does not make you immune to deep fear. And walking closely with God does not mean you will never walk through darkness. In fact, some of the lowest valleys come on the heels of the highest moments.

1. Where in your life are you experiencing a “Dismal Nitch” right now—and how has it affected your view of God, yourself, and your circumstances?
2. In moments of exhaustion or fear, do you tend to hide from God or come honestly before Him—and what would it look like to bring your full, unfiltered self to Him this week?
3. What is one lie or distorted narrative you’ve been believing in this season (e.g., “I’m alone,” “Nothing will change”), and what truth from God’s Word confronts and replaces that lie?
4. How have you experienced God’s compassion in your weakness—and are you allowing His truth to also reshape your thinking, or are you staying stuck in what feels true?
5. What is the next small, faithful step God may be calling you to take—even if you don’t feel ready—and what is keeping you from taking it?
