Passage: Acts 8:1-4

Summary

Today, only 20 percent of churches in the U.S. are growing, and only 5 percent of those churches are growing by reaching lost people. That means 95 percent of the church growth we celebrate merely shuffles existing Christians around. And, most studies show that somewhere near 90 percent of active, church-going evangelicals have never even shared their faith with someone outside of their family.

Sermon Questions
  1. Have you ever shared your faith with someone besides a person in your family? Why is it hard for us to share the good news?
  2. The church in Acts was unstoppable with no building, no programs, and no budgets. Why are our churches so impotent in this modern age?
  3. Our church mission is… We are a spirit-led family seeking to KNOW God, GROW in faith, and GO serve others and share Jesus Christ. What is it you ought to be doing to fulfill that mission?
  4. Don’t you want to know that you are a part of something significant and something with meaning that’s actually going to matter? Why is that important?
  5. Most of us think of discipleship sequentially: Learn. Then pray. Then give. Then go. What if we, “Just go.” If you do, you’ll find motivation to learn, pray, and give. There is no better discipleship program than just going…What would it look like for you to just go and make disciples?
