Passage: Acts 4:32-33

Summary

Nothing precedes purpose. The starting point for every church should be the question, "Why do we exist?" Until we know what our church exists for, we will have no foundation, no motivation, no direction, and no unity.

Sermon Questions
  1. Why was unity such a big deal to Jesus? Explain your answer.
  2. What did it mean that the early church had everything in common? Is that true among us? Why or why not?
  3. What are ways that the church needs to be more like a “hospital for the hurting” than a cathedral to attend? What steps could we take to see that happen?
  4. In what ways is the church like a symphony? What is the part you are called other than play?
  5. How should we make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace? How are you personally doing that with brothers and sisters you may not agree with?
