Passage: Mark

Summary

What does it mean to be with Jesus? What does it look like to be in a close relationship with Jesus, to abide in Him, and to I've a life that reflects that deep connection?  I want us to look at two passages that challenge us to prioritize our proximity to Jesus in all aspects of life, threading through our everyday routines, decisions, and interactions.

Sermon Questions
  1. How does Jesus describe the connection between being with Him and bearing fruit?
  2. Why do you think Jesus’ call to be with Him comes before the call to do ministry for Him?
  3. What does Jesus mean when He says, “Apart from me you can do nothing”? How does this challenge our usual approach to life and service?
  4. How can our group or church family create rhythms and spaces that help one another abide in Christ?
  5. How might our witness to the world change if we were known first for being with Jesus before doing things for Him?
