Passage: John

Summary

The Christian life is not just about believing the right things or behaving a certain way. It’s about becoming a certain kind of person. It’s about being transformed from the inside out—shaped, sanctified, and molded into the image of Jesus Himself.

Sermon Questions

  1. In verse 18, Jesus says, “As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.” What does this reveal about His purpose for His disciples?
  2. How does Jesus define “sanctification in the truth” (v. 17), and why is it essential for becoming like Him? What does this prayer tell us about Jesus’ heart for His followers, both then and now?
  3. If becoming like Jesus involves both holiness and mission, which one do you tend to emphasize more in your own walk? Why?
  4. How can you actively pursue the kind of unity Jesus prays for without compromising biblical truth?
  5. If our community reflected Jesus’ joy, holiness, and unity more fully, what difference would it make to the people around us?
