Summary
Today, one death, one brutal, gruesome death, the worst and best of all human deaths, will leave upon the canvas of human history the darkest brushstroke. In Jerusalem, God the Son, the Creator of all that is will be executed.

- Jesus cried it is finished. What does “It is finished” mean to you?
- Read Psalm 22. Psalm 22 gives you a prophetic look at this gruesome Friday. Why do you think it is important for the things that Psalm 22 foreshadowed to be brought to completion on this day that we call “Good Friday”?
- Put yourself in Pilate’s position. Pilate tried to release Jesus. If you were in Pilate’s place, do you believe that you would release Jesus? Why or why not?
- There is deep darkness on that Friday. How has the darkness of sin engulfed you? How has Jesus death, burial, and resurrection saved you from that darkness?
- It is finished was not a cry of defeat, it was a roar of victory. What do these six hours signify to you?
