How do I (we) know if my hearts is hard and how do I (we) keep it from going astray? One way we can discover what’s in our hearts is by examining our prayers…

Sermon Questions

1. Is daily prayer important to you? Are you a person who prays and works to pray everyday but miss the heart of prayer? Explain your answer.

2. Is there an area in your life where you have hardened your heart to God and it has really impacted your prayer life? Explain. What are you willing to do to change that situation?

3. “Out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.” What is coming out of your mouth? Does your speech (heart) glorify God or is your speech reflective of a heart that needs some work?

4. Is your heart broken over your sin? What does it look like for your heart to be broken by sin?

5. This statement is made in the sermon… "If I can be honest with you, sometimes it’s what I ask for that uncovers my heart. I’m not after Him, I’m after what He can do for me.” How do you respond to that statement? Is that true for you? Explain.
