Passage: Joel 1:1-3:21
Summary
His book was written during a time when a lot of things had gone wrong in Israel. They had some really bad leaders, and they had just suffered through a national plague. There was civil unrest and economic problems. Their stock market was down, foreign trade was low, national confidence was non-existent, and their FBI director had just gotten fired. Almost everyone believed the country was headed in the wrong direction.
